This week, I was invited by the Teaching Company Scheme to take part in a photoshoot and interview celebrating 50 years of supporting innovation and developing future leaders.
I was nominated and selected as one of 50 standout Associates across five decades.
A truly proud moment.
Back in 2002, straight out of my PhD in Materials Science, no real-world experience I stepped into a TCS project in a male-dominated industry and learned fast.
✨ What the TCS experience gave me:
• Real business responsibility from day one
• Confidence to lead innovation and product development
• Skills to take ideas from lab to launch
• Trust in my voice and technical expertise
It set the foundation for a career that has taken me across sectors and countries and shaped the leader, mentor, and consultant I am today.
This week reminded me of something important:
We don’t celebrate ourselves enough.
We rush forward so fast that we forget the evidence of our own growth.
Looking back with pride fuels your ability to lead forward with confidence.
Now my mission is to give back helping the next generation of professionals thrive:
Not just by being technically brilliant…
but by becoming resilient, confident, emotionally intelligent leaders who don’t burn out trying to prove themselves.
